This Privacy Policy describes how the QuizPaws service (the “Service”) collects, uses, and processes users’ personal data.

We only collect data necessary for the Service to function.

2.1 Account Data

When you sign in with Google, we obtain:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Unique Google ID
  • Profile photo (avatar)

Passwords are not stored by us.

2.2 Technical Data

We automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • User agent (browser/device type)
  • Session logs

If you enable push notifications, we also store a notification token associated with your device, used solely to deliver notifications you have opted in to. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device or browser settings.

2.3 Usage Data

We store:

  • Game progress
  • Game results and history
  • User settings (language, theme, other preferences)

We use:

  • session cookies for authentication.
  • localStorage for saving interface settings.

2.5 Analytics

We use analytics tools provided by Google to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. Analytics are loaded only after you accept analytics cookies via our cookie consent banner; if you decline or have not yet made a choice, no analytics scripts are loaded. The same consent applies whether you use the Service via the web or via the mobile application.

2.6 Data we do not collect

The mobile application does not access:

  • Precise or approximate device location
  • Camera, microphone, photos or media gallery
  • Contacts, calendar, SMS, or call logs
  • Files on your device outside the application itself
  • Health, fitness or financial data

The mobile application only asks permission to show notifications, and only if you choose to enable them.

We do not use personal data for personalized advertising.

8. Data retention

  • Until the user requests deletion.

After an account is deleted, all personal data is irreversibly removed, except where retention is required by law.

This web page allows the user to initiate account and data deletion and explains which data will be deleted or retained (for legal reasons) and the processing timelines.

Upon deletion:

Providing your email and name via Google sign-in is necessary to create and maintain your account and progress. If you do not provide this data, you may not have access to account-specific features. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling with legal effects.

We use cookies and similar technologies to ensure the Service works properly. Some cookies are necessary (e.g. for authentication) and cannot be disabled. Other cookies (especially analytics) may only be used with user consent where required by law. You can manage cookies via your browser settings.

You may invite friends to use the Service by entering their email address. We store the email address you provide and send them a one-time invitation email on your behalf. We do not use invited email addresses for marketing or for any other purpose, and we delete them when the invitation is accepted, expires, or upon request to [email protected].

13.2 Sharing results

You may share your game results. Results you choose to share may be visible to other users or to anyone who has the share link.

14. Children’s data

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Service or provide any personal data. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete such data promptly. We do not sell or share personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.
